Fera Rising - The Wildheart

I was invited to be a designer for the Fera Rising Fashion Show with Whimsy Forge at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.

This was a warrior-inspired show, and each of the designers needed to design their interpretation of a warrior. Our models also performed a weapons sequence on the runway, so we got to choose a larp weapon from Medieval Collectibles. We were encouraged to thrift materials for this project. The outfit needed to allow movement, and we had to incorporate a red element for cohesion.

My inspiration? I wanted to create a post-apocalyptic vibe, a character that could be in Mad Max. I wanted her to look like she scavenged pieces on her journey. She is resourceful and nostalgic. She stashes a collection of items on her belt that remind her of people from her past.

• Cream shirt that I cut up for sleeves
